Nathan Research Group was founded in 2013 as Korea’s first locally established expert network service. At a time when global ENS firms operated Korea coverage remotely from offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, or Tokyo, we chose to build from the ground up — in Seoul, at the heart of Asia’s fourth-largest economy.

Our conviction was simple: Korea’s complex corporate landscape — its chaebol structures, rapidly evolving technology sectors, and unique regulatory environment — demands a level of local depth that cannot be replicated from a distance.

Over more than a decade, we have built Korea’s most specialized expert network, serving global private equity firms, hedge funds, management consultancies, investment banks, and multinational corporations that need actionable, ground-level insights on the Korean market.

Nathan Choi

Nathan Choi is the Founder & CEO of Nathan Research Group, Korea’s first locally established expert network service. He founded the firm in Seoul in 2013 with a clear conviction: that Korea’s complex corporate landscape, rapidly evolving industries, and distinctive regulatory environment cannot be understood from a distance. At a time when much of Korea coverage was still managed remotely from regional hubs, Nathan set out to build a firm grounded in native market understanding, trusted local relationships, and rigorous execution.

With over 18 years of experience across financial services and research, he has built Nathan Research Group into a trusted partner to global private equity firms, hedge funds, management consultancies, investment banks, and multinational corporations seeking high-conviction insight on Korea. Under his leadership, the firm has developed a compliance-first model that combines meticulous expert vetting, sector-specific matching, and deep analysis of Korean public filings to deliver insight with depth, speed, and integrity.

He continues to lead the firm with a singular focus: helping global decision-makers navigate Korea with greater clarity, confidence, and local depth.
